Creating safer spaces for performers
Dedicated to supporting honest storytelling without compromising care or consent

Sofia Marrero
Founder of It's Intimacy Coordination | Intimacy Coordinator | Actress
I'm an intimacy coordinator with a background in acting, which is what first led me to this work. While performing in a play, I had the chance to collaborate with an intimacy coordinator—and the experience was transformative. It allowed me to feel more grounded, respected, and connected in my performance. That moment stayed with me. I realized how much care and intention could support not just the work, but the people behind it.
Since then, I've been dedicated to creating safer, more collaborative spaces for performers. I trained with Cintima in Los Angeles and hold certifications in Mental Health First Aid, Equality and LGBTQIA+ Awareness, and Conflict Resolution, which support my trauma-informed and actor-centered approach. I bring a calm, compassionate presence to every set and rehearsal room, ensuring that work with intimacy feels respectful, creative, and empowering.
My experience spans short films, feature films, vertical dramas, and theater, adapting my work to meet the specific needs of each project. Whether choreographing a complex scene or simply holding space for a conversation, my goal is always the same: to support honest storytelling without compromising care or consent.
Intimacy Coordination
An Intimacy Coordinator is a trained professional responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of actors during scenes that involve physical intimacy, nudity, or simulated sex.
They work collaboratively with directors, actors, production teams and other departments to choreograph intimate scenes in a way that respects personal boundaries and maintains a professional environment.
Intimacy coordinators also uphold a culture of consent and communication, helping to create a safe and respectful atmosphere on set.
How do I know if my Production needs an Intimacy Coordinator?
If your production includes any scenes involving physical intimacy, nudity, or simulated sex, it is advisable to hire an intimacy coordinator to ensure the well-being of your actors and the success of your project. If you have any specific questions please do not hesitate in getting in contact.
